Why so long? you may ask. Simple, I have been too worried that what I might write was not relevant enough. Or worse still, was wrong! Now this is a very silly thing for me to think for 2 years, waiting for something relevant to say, or that my opinions could be wrong. They can't because they are my opinions and if you don't like them ... well, I have others. (Groucho Marx)
Well with that out of the way I can get on with what should become the main focus of this blog;
- My interests in .NET and C# and the open source community surrounding them such as Github.
- Simple and elegant solutions to common problems encountered by developers on a regular basis such as Rob Conery's Massive and Mark Rendle's Simple.Data.
- Best practices in writing software like those covered in depth in the highly recommended book Clean Code by 'Uncle' Bob Martin.
- Design patterns for managing complexity in problem domains such as Domain-driven Design (DDD) - covered in Eric Evan's book.
- Software testing from low-level unit testing to high-level acceptance testing, through to load testing and the bigger questions of their overall value and the acceptance criteria.
Well that's a good and well overdue start to this new-fangled blogging thingy all the kids have been talking about.
